Afrobeats sensation Kizz Daniel shocked the Nigerian music industry this week by announcing an unplanned and prolonged musical hiatus, with plans to take a break until 2026.
He revealed the information yesterday, November 16, 2024, on his X account. The Buga crooner said in an emotional letter that he needed to recharge and re-establish a connection with himself after years of unrelenting success, citing personal reasons.
He wrote, “After this, I will not drop anything again until 2026.”
This announcement comes on the heels of the recent loss of his mother-in-law to breast cancer.
“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her. Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” he added.
The artist has recently garnered attention for his public displays of affection toward his wife, Anidugbe, on social media.
From posting romantic pictures to cleverly weaving their love story into promotions for his latest tracks, Kizz Daniel has made his personal life an extension of his artistry.
Known for his worldwide Afrobeats successes, including Buga, Cough, and Twe Twe, Kizz Daniel has dominated the scene with upbeat performances and number-one songs that have solidified his reputation as a household name.
