Kemi Afolabi Slams Critics Over Mercy Aigbe’s House Fire Incident

Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has spoken out in support of her colleague, Mercy Aigbe, following a recent devastating fire at her Lagos home.

Mercy’s residence was devastated by a fire on Wednesday that destroyed multiple properties valued at millions of naira.

In the wake of the tragic incident, some social media trolls and critics claimed that the disaster was a deliberate attempt by Mercy to promote her upcoming movie ‘Thinline’, and others hurled abusive words at the actress, referencing her marriage saga with Kazim Adeoti’s first wife.

In response, Kemi Afolabi, in a video shared on Instagram, pleaded with critics to stop trolling Mercy and questioning why people would think her colleague would use such a tragic situation to promote her movie.

Kemi added that Mercy needs support and not online attacks.

She said, “I am begging on behalf of Mercy… she did not send me and I know she is always a strong woman. I just feel so bad that she has to go through this. Please guys any support you can give her at this time. Can you stop trolling her please?

“I know we are are human and nobody is perfect. We already discussed about the house. We have people who have told her they would support her. It is a big deal. If you want to think about everything that has burnt down including her properties, the house itself, the filming equipment.

“I cannot believe people are still trolling her. This is unfair. All she needs is you support. Forget whatever you guys might have against her. How can someone allow her house to burn to promote a movie.”
