In an ambitious and unconventional move, Nigerian entertainer Nasboi has initiated a nationwide campaign, pledging to kneel in all 36 states of Nigeria to earn a musical collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The campaign commenced in Osun State, where Nasboi was photographed kneeling with a placard outside the state government secretariat. He shared the image on Instagram, explaining that his initial impersonations of Davido in 2019 were aimed at capturing the artist’s attention for a potential musical partnership. While these impersonations propelled him into the limelight as a comedian, Nasboi now seeks to fulfill his original aspiration of collaborating musically with Davido.
“In 2019, I started mimicking Davido to get his attention for my music, but the videos blew me up as a comedian.. (God’s plan). I am back to plea with 001. Bless me with a verse for this song king. I will be kneeling across 36 states for 36 days. I pray this dream comes to pass,” Nasboi wrote in his post.
The campaign has garnered significant attention on social media, with fans tagging Davido and expressing support for Nasboi’s endeavor. In response, Davido commented with “set up” accompanied by a laughing emoji, indicating amusement but not confirming any collaboration.
Nasboi’s determination underscores his commitment to his musical career, having previously released tracks like “Umbrella” featuring Wande Coal and “Could This Be Love” with Chike. His debut project, ‘INIT,’ includes collaborations with notable artists such as 2Baba, Pheelz, Chike, and Falz, earning him a Next Rated nomination at the 17th Headies Awards.
As Nasboi continues his unique campaign across Nigeria, fans eagerly await Davido’s response to this heartfelt plea for a musical partnership.
