After his appearance at the 67th Grammys, Rema has revealed the release date for his upcoming single.
‘Baby (Is It A Crime’ is a single that will be released on Friday, February 7, 2025, the singer said on his Instagram account yesterday.
The song samples the track ‘Is It A Crime’ from the iconic ‘Promise’ album by British band Sade.
The song will be Rema’s first release of 2025 which comes after his appearance at the 2025 Grammyswhere he was nominated for the Best Global Album.
The category was won by American musician Matt B & the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for his album ‘Alkebulan II’.
Rema’s ‘Baby (Is It A Crime)’ is his first release since he put out hissophomore album ‘HEIS’ in 2024.
The award-winning star described the up-tempo party starting project as a tribute to the rich history of Nigerian music and a desire to remind the industry of the need to look inward.
The album which boasts of the hit singles ‘Azaman’ and ‘Ozeba’ enjoyed commercial success and was ranked among the best albums of 2024.
Rema also recently announced dates for his upcoming European tour including the 20K Accor Arena in France.
Rema’s new single will be an attempt to carry on his commercial success, which has brought him numerous honours, including becoming the first Afrobeats song to achieve one billion views on YouTube and one billion Spotify plays.
