British monarch, King Charles III, has shared his admiration for Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido. Speaking on the newly premiered Apple Music show, The King’s Music Room, on Monday, March 10, 2025, he revealed that Davido’s music sparked his love for Pidgin English.
King Charles added that he would like to speak Pidgin English when he next visits Nigeria in the post that Davido posted on his Instagram story. He also praised the Afrobeat form of music, saying that it is gaining popularity all over the world.
“Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” Charles III stated.
