World Cup Qualifiers: Super Eagles Coach Chelle Announces Final Squad

Nigeria’s Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled the final 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. This marks his first official task as the head coach of the three-time African champions.

Prior to selecting the final team, which includes three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and seven strikers, Chelle revealed a preliminary roster of 39 individuals last week. The squad consists of both new and seasoned players.

  • Stanley Nwabali

Defenders:

  • Bright Osayi-Samuel
  • Bruno Onyemaechi
  • Calvin Bassey
  • Ola Aina
  • Igoh Ogbu

Midfielders:

  • Alex Iwobi
  • Alhassan Yusuf
  • Joe Aribo
  • Papa Daniel Mustapha
  • Raphael Onyedika
  • Wilfred Ndidi

Forwards:

  • Ademola Lookman
  • Moses Simon
  • Nathan Tella
  • Sadiq Umar
  • Samuel Chukwueze
  • Tolu Arokodare
  • Victor Boniface
  • Victor Osimhen

Nigeria will start their effort to guarantee a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup by playing Rwanda first, then Zimbabwe.
